Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026 (Groups added)
Flock helps you track which golf holes you have birdied at the courses you play. This page explains what information Flock collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and a password. Your password is stored in a scrambled (hashed) form, so no one at Flock can read it.
- Your golf data: the courses, tee boxes, dates and scores you enter in the app.
- Group information: if you create or join a Group, we store the group's details, the display name you choose, which tees you enter, and the birdies you choose to count for that group (hole, tee and date played). A group's join password is stored so that the group's admins can look it up and share it.
- Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting and email providers may log things such as your IP address and browser type for security and to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To save your courses and scores and show them back to you on any device.
- To run Groups: members of a group can see each other's display names, tee entries, and the birdies counted for that group, including leaderboards and an activity feed. Your other courses and scores are not shared. Birdies are only shared with a group when you leave the "log in group" option switched on for that round.
- To send emails you need, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
We do not sell your information. We do not show ads. We do not use your data for advertising, and Flock does not use analytics or tracking tools.
Who handles your data
Flock relies on a few service providers to run. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores accounts and your golf data.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Cloudflare manages our domain name.
- Google Fonts delivers the fonts used on the site, which means your browser requests them from Google when the page loads.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your data and your choices
- Access and edit: you can see and change your courses and scores in the app at any time.
- Delete your account: use the Delete account link at the bottom of the app. This permanently deletes your account and all of your saved courses and scores, and removes you and your entries from any groups you joined. If you own a group that has other members, you will need to transfer ownership to another member first. You can also leave a group at any time from the group's Members page, which removes your entries from it. Routine backups may keep copies for a limited time before they are overwritten.
- Groups are run by their admins: Flock does not collect, hold or pay out any money. Entry fees and prizes are arranged by each group, not by Flock. Group admins can remove players and entries from their group.
- Questions or requests: email us at the address below and we will help.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is deleted.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls so that each account can only read its own data. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.
Cookies and storage
Flock stores a sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in. It does not use advertising cookies.
Children
Flock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
